​​​Jefferson ACTION Plan – In 2014 the Jefferson County Commission adopted a detailed community-wide Vision ACTION Plan. Implementation of the Plan is underway through a range of local organizations. Picture below is from November 13 Stakeholder Team meeting, with Jefferson EDC, City of Monticello, Jefferson County (Small Business Development Program, Planning Department & Coordinator’s Office), Chamber of Commerce, Monticello Main Street, Jefferson Tourism Development Council and the Extension Office.

“Economic Development Academy” - We recognize value of economic development education, training and information.  In March, 2015, members of our Board completed a 4-day training session focused on the importance of the BIG 3:  Product, Transportation and Workforce.

“Experience North Florida!” - The Jefferson County EDC was pleased to serve as one of the sponsors for this annual site selectors forum in April 2015. The event, hosted by the North Florida Economic Development Partnership, was attended by site selectors around the country as well as local government officials, economic developers and others throughout the state. Ron Cichon and Julie Conley of the Jefferson County EDC attended.



JCEDC’s Executive Director Julie Conley was chosen to serve as the 2015-17 Chair for the North Florida Economic Development Partnership (NFEDP).  She will take office July 16, 2015. The NFEDP is a public/private, 501c(6) entity dedicated to facilitating economic development activity and high quality job growth, and securing capital investment in the 15-county region comprising North Central Florida.  The NFEDP is supported by local government and private sector/corporate partners, state and federal grants, and contracts for services.
